Canada stretches from Newfoundland, which uses UTC−3:30 (UTC−2:30 in summer), one of the few half-hour offsets in the Americas, to the Pacific coast. Two big changes came in 2026: British Columbia moved to permanent UTC−7 on 9 March and Alberta to permanent UTC−6 on 18 June, so neither will put its clocks back in November. The Northwest Territories was expected to follow Alberta, but that was not yet official in the July 2026 time zone database. Most of Saskatchewan stays on UTC−6 all year, Yukon has stayed on UTC−7 since 2020, and Ontario, Quebec and the Atlantic provinces still change on the US dates.
