2. What data we collect
- Contact emails: if you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message.
- Analytics data: information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, time on page, approximate location (city or country), device, browser and referring website, collected through Google Analytics 4.
- Advertising data: cookie identifiers and device information used by Google AdSense to show, measure and limit the frequency of adverts.
- Server logs: our web host automatically records technical information, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, to keep the site running and secure.
3. Your time zone and the tools
Our clocks, converter and meeting planner run in your web browser. To pre-select your location, the converter and planner may read your device's time zone setting, for example "Europe/London", within your browser. The locations, dates and times you enter are processed on your device. They are not sent to us or stored by us. The converter puts your choices in the page address so you can bookmark or share a result. That address is seen only by you and anyone you share it with, plus our web host's logs if you reload the page.
4. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies, such as _ga and _ga_*, to distinguish users. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
You can find out more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Google AdSense and advertising cookies
We use Google AdSense to show adverts on the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. These may be personalised ads, based on your interests, or non-personalised ads, based on context such as the page you are viewing. Where other third-party vendors or ad networks serve ads through AdSense, they may also use cookies.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and about Google's advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Google acts as an independent controller for some of this processing. Advertisers do not receive your name or contact details from us.
6. Cookie consent
We use Google's Privacy & messaging tool, a Google-certified consent management platform, to ask visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland whether they agree to cookies and similar technologies being used for advertising and measurement. Until you make a choice, our pages tell Google's tags that consent has not been given (Google Consent Mode v2).
Your choice is recorded so that personalised advertising is shown only where you have consented. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalised or limited ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as fraud prevention and frequency capping where the law allows.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the "Privacy and cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page, or by deleting cookies in your browser. Strictly necessary cookies, such as the one that remembers your consent choice, do not require consent. See our cookie policy for details.
7. Fonts
The site's font (Inter) is served from our own web server, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider.
8. Legal bases for processing
Under the UK GDPR we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent: for analytics, advertising and personalised ad cookies, as required by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
- Legitimate interests: to reply to emails you send us, to keep the site secure through server logs, and to keep basic records of correspondence and corrections.
- Legal obligation: where we need to keep or disclose information to comply with the law.
9. How long we keep data
- Emails and correspondence: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we need to keep them longer for legal reasons.
- Google Analytics data: retained for 14 months, then deleted automatically.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or overwritten.
- Cookies: kept for the period set by each cookie, typically between one session and 13 months for Google advertising cookies and up to two years for Google Analytics cookies. You can delete them at any time.
10. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers described in this policy, such as Google and our email and web hosting providers. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, standard contractual clauses or the UK-US data bridge.
11. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- restrict or object to our processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before you withdrew it.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theaibarn.com. We will respond within one month.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
13. Children
ExactLocalTime is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
15. Contact us
